You probably have a lot of questions, starting with the obvious: What is a Meta Business Partner?

What is a Meta Business Partner?

Meta Platforms, Inc. may not yet have the same name recognition as its flagship platform, but it serves as the parent corporation to Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Formerly known as Facebook, Inc., the company rebranded as Meta in October 2021 to better reflect the organization’s increased focus on pioneering the next generation of technology. Rather than functioning primarily as a social media company, Meta is tackling the challenge of building the “metaverse,” foraying into the realm of augmented and virtual reality.

As a result of the rebranding, what was once the Facebook Business Partners program has now become the Meta Business Partners program. The purpose of the program remains the same, which is to recognize digital marketing agencies for their excellent service and technical skill in utilizing Meta’s platforms to launch, plan, and manage campaigns.

In order to be considered for membership as a Meta Business Partner, agencies must meet or exceed a minimum 180-day ad spend of $5,000, be headquartered in a supported region, and manage at least 10 Facebook pages in Business Manager with a minimum ad spend of $100 in the last 90 days.

But to become a badged Meta Business Partner, they are evaluated across a combination of criteria:

  • Amount of spend from ad accounts over the last 180 days (min. $4 million)
  • Percentage of ads with automatic placement or 4+ placements chosen on Facebook, Instagram, and Audience Network in the last 90 days
  • Percentage of media spend against direct response objectives optimized to drive meaningful business outcomes for clients in the last 90 days
  • Number of active pages connected to ad accounts with a spend of at least $100 in the last 90 days
